Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 16, 2015 There is something interestingly anachronistic about this picture. She almost looks like someone from the Egyptian dynasties in appearance and pose and yet the bordering sprocket holes, smart phone and tattoos place her squarely in the contemporary world. It sets up a very nice tension. The slightly de-saturated color further confuses any set notion of time and place which is only enhanced by the elbow seemingly extending beyond the edge of the film frame. A very successful picture, Chuck. Beautifully weighed and executed. Putting this one in my favorites. Link to comment
color 3 Posted June 16, 2015 Glad you enjoy it. I discovered a set of filters a few month ago, one of which is the film sprocket holes. I have used it in various incarnations a few times. This is a candid shot. I keep my eyes open while I'm shooting for unscripted, unposed opportunities like this one. Link to comment
