Bee Surprise

I actually was surprised how well this turned out. I was using a

Petzval 85mm art lens at f4.0. It was overcast and that added to the

dreamy look you can get using that lens.

This is quite different coming from you; your softer, more poetic side, I suppose. Didn't know you had it in you, Chuck. Sure came up with a great result, though. Beautiful shot and a big assist to that tirelessly working bee.

I like a soft look from time to time. I usually feel the urge to avoid that though. However, I bought a Lomography Petzval 85mm lens recently just to make images with a soft look and a shallow DOF. That's what I used here.

 

After reading your response I don't understand why you try to avoid taking photos with a softer nature. I personally love this one and would love to see this mood hit you more often! I love the soft colors, light, mood; very beautiful and dreamy image! Thank you for sharing. :)

This is really beautiful Chuck. I love this flower, it's name escapes me at the moment. So soft and dreamy!

I appreciate all of the comments. I will be doing some more "soft" images like this once in a while. BTW, these are wildflowers on a river bank. It was overcast and I used a large aperture, 2.0.
