Wow, a powerful portrait of this grizzled old guy.  The exif data says UK so I assume he's in a zoo, but you'd never know it looking at that powerful and intense stare.  Excellent... Mike

Just like in the animal kingdom, there will be a time when we out live our usefulness. Follow the ranks of the forgotten, paid attention to no more.

A profound image D, that makes us think

A Serengeti lion in the UK ?. ....-:).. Your assumption is correct. And fortunately he was behind glass as I had to wait for ages to capture this..

I was very amused by the visitors to the enclosure who raised their mobile phones, took a picture and went away...They were happy, any way..-:).

I know what you are saying my friend....Hopefully we are living a legacy behind. My father in law was an avid photographer and he left a lot of pictures behind which are in our possession now. My daughters put them in albums in chronological order and I was choked with their reverence....

Really has to be seen large to fully appreciate the detail and beauty of this amazing creature. Tony B's comment is sad but in our society with its emphasis on youth and the need to have everything NEW AND NOW, it rings true. Wonderful capture of this gorgeous and distinguished lion; his face says it all! Very well done! I appreciate your patience to wait for this shot. Thank you for sharing. :)

I sincerely thank you for your visit and observations, my dear.

As for young people....We must make them, subtly, aware of the plight of other people less privileged than they are. We must also teach them that is important to limit their freedom...To learn these things takes time and lots of information, so hopefully they will make the right choices.

Thanks again. Best.
