Tony,

This is awesome, and very creative. Using double exposure, you have created an effect that is almost indistinguisable from sunlight burst. This, along with the good composition makes for an extraordinary image.

Could you post some technical details, such as the shutter speed during the zoom operation, for us to learn. Thank you.

You do manage to get the strangest and most interesting effects from your various experiments. This looks like an out-take from "Strange Encounters of the Third Kind".

Glad you liked it. I can explain how I did it but in the end, you too have to experiment. Many months ago, I admired the results of in-camera experiments described in ("Outdoor Photography - American) and the author gave pretty detailed instructions and I could never achieve what he got.  This is the first time that I decided to shoot a normal no zoom and then shot a 2nd image but with zooming. I have a couple of others where the rays are shorter because I did not zoom as much.

Each image was 2 seconds using my 70-300 nikkor at f8.

I am ready for a Fall image with a similar approach.

Tony,  You have created a most effective and artistic abstract out of a realistic landscape scene.  The light rays really make the image for me.  Bravo.  Thanks for your recent visits to my images too.  Larry

Well done, Tony! The camera must have been attached very firmly to a very heavy tripod seems to me!

Best regards

Tony,

This is another fine example of how versatile you are. You are a master of light. The visual effect is so smooth and seamless.  Congrats!
