These guys raid & devastate the feed I put out for Blue Jays (which I still haven't been able to successfully photograph - stay tuned)   I took this while staked out at the feeder in a tent.  This one picked up a peanut knocked out of the feeder by the Grackles.  Now I only put in a hand full of feed each time I go out.  Pesky little Tree  Rats but, I admit, cute enough to want a portrait of.  Best, Len.

Actually, I was hoping to get a Blue Jay but I couldn't resist the opportunity this guy provided.  The peanut was meant for the bird.  Still trying for that one but I'll settle for this portrait in the meantime.  :-)  Thanks for your thoughts.  Best, Len.

In the larger view the little guy really comes alive!. My wife hates them because they eat her bulbs..

Thanks for taking the time to comment on this one.  This guy is one of the reasons we no longer have any tulips.  Bulb eater! So I can empathize with your wife.  Still, these guys are cute enough until I get my Blue Jay.  Still working on that.  Gotta keep moving my tent (blind) so the grass doesn't die.  :-(  Best, Len.

Great detail  and perfect dof!  They can be a nuisance but an endless source of entertainment, the one in our garden has learned to hang upside down by it's feet whilst nibbling it's nuts (yeah I know that sounded so wrong)   : - )

Love the double entendre. :-)  Thing was, this guy was nibbling the Blue Jay's nuts.  Never did get the Jay photo I was after.  :-(  Hope this gets by the censors.  Best, Len.
