Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 12, 2015 Larger detailed view available. The west coast of Vancouver Island in Canada has a wilderness character. Weather is constantly changing. Getting to Tofino on the Pacific is a a mountain adventure of its own. Being there immediately evokes a sense of wonder for the sea and the beaches. And, the people are wonderful. Wickaninnish Inn, shown at right in this image is a wonderful place to stay and relish this environment. Your comments on this image are most valued and appreciated. Thanks. Larry Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted May 12, 2015 This is excellent and well worth your efforts. The cool blue is nicely contrasted by the warm setting sun... Mike Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 12, 2015 Mike, Thanks for your visit and comment. My wife especially likes this image. I am eager to learn how to avoid or fix the white shadow line behind the distant rocks on the right. Is this chromatic aberration? PS6 won't seem to eliminate it. Any further thoughts? Not Here 93 Posted May 12, 2015 I'm not sure if that's chromatic aberration, or as I sometimes encounter, just a little too much sharpening. When I encounter this I back off on the sharpening or, if I'm pleased with the rest of the image, I'll use the clone tool, zoom in tight, and use a 3-9 pix brush and about 65% opacity to just paint over it. I've done that to the attached image, see if you like it. Regardless, a beautiful scene... Mike Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 13, 2015 Mike, yes I have tried the clone tool also. One has to be careful to retain the texture of the line. i think enlarging the image enough is key. I will try the brush you suggest. Many thanks, Mike. Larry Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 19, 2015 Ross Tony Thanks for your visits and compliments on this image. I highly recommend Tofino for a visit if you get back out to Vancouver Island. I have been away from PN for a few weeks due to travel and my schedule. I am getting back. Thanks again. Larry Link to comment
phillips 0 Posted June 10, 2015 A stunning image. One of those scenes that really lends itself to a large print. Maybe a little less sharpening, with a smaller radius would help the lines round the rocks, but that detail is small compared to the mood you captured so well. Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 16, 2015 Hi Phil, Thanks for your visit and helpful comment. I have printed a 12x18 image of this scene and will likely mat and frame it. I tinkered with the white line and decided it looked best to leave it alone. Many thanks, Phil. Larry Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted June 23, 2015 Such a gorgeous scene beautifully photographed. The composition, light, color and reflections are great but it's the atmosphere that keeps me looking. Really lovely work! Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
michael.mcmahan 0 Posted July 24, 2015 LarryThis is a very nice image. i love the declining light and the shallow reflections from the sky.I've sometimes had the same issue in that area- high contrast area. Some times to avoid it I will use a layer mask and adjust the sky and foreground separately. Tofino is on my visit list and you've underscored that ambition. Thanks for your comment on my Cannon Beach image.BestMichael Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted July 27, 2015 Michael, Thanks for your visit and comment. We are likely to put this image on one of our walls. Tofino will blow you away. The beaches are pristine and amazing, and Tofino is a lovely town with nice restaurants, shops, and friendly people. Tofino Inlet abuts the town and offers nice views of the mountains and eagles too. Thanks again for your visit. Larry Link to comment
