Wow, the ice is disappearing fast!  An excellent series, documenting this fishing industry... Mike

The three boats here all have the same objective and permit. The one in

the middle is the earlier generation and has a wooden hull;the one on

the right has a wooden hull covered in fiberglass and the new one on

the left is all fiberglass. While the latest1larger one will carry its

300-traps permit allocation in one trip, the smaller ones will have to

return to base for a second trip to the fishing area.Thank you for

your comment-Laurent

Completely open waters at last and the warm sunlight of Spring. winter has been banished. Let the good times begin.

Laurent, it is very interesting to follow your documentation of the lobster season. We also appreciate your commentaries. We are getting to know and love  your region through your series throughout the seasons.

Thank you.The right tide/wind conditions cleaned out the harbour ice and the Go-Ahead was finally given for the season opener this morning.Tomorrow....fresh lobster!

Thank you...and glad you keep looking in.Quite a relief here for everybody that the ice has finally gone;the fishermen can get on with their business and the folks here will have the traditional lobster for Mother's Day.
