Giangiorgio Crisponi 454 Posted May 5, 2015 Wasps in flight. This image was achieved from the fusion with the focus stacking method of four photographs of wasps flying around an inflorescence of ferula ( Ferula communis). The photos were not taken with a macro lens but with the Sigma 300-800mm super telephoto at 800mm from the minimum focus distance of 6 meters. The background is completely blurred and brings out the wasps in flight. Even I was amazed by the quality of this lens and the ability to freeze the fly of these insects from the flight very fast. lauramarco 0 Posted May 5, 2015 Dear Giangiorgio, I'm impressed by the way you got the image from so a distant place and finally getting the quality of a macro. At first I thought it was fennel (Foeniculum vulgare / Umbelliferous) but I see is a tall, large shrub. The best for me is the quality: sharpness, lights ... and the remnants of movement on the wings of wasps, which makes that it is not a static picture. No movement in the wings, would not be so shocking. Congrats Giangiorgio, it's an incredible shot.Kindest regards, Laura. Link to comment
