Crowded....by the ice!

I like the simplicity and straightforwardness of the composition here with just enough color breaking through to give it life without turning it into a piecemeal carnival. This photo floats as easily as the boat it pictures.

Thank you for the kind observation.This was taken on the onset of the preparation activities when only a portion of the fleet had been put afloat amidst the still very present ice within the wharf's confines and loading of the gear was just starting.Now a few days further in the rigging up and with a tentative Mother's Day departure,the carnival atmosphere is full swing on the wharf,boats are parked three wide and loaded to the hilt and only way to avoid a scene full of colors is to stay put in the nearby coffee shop.
