Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 2, 2015 Yet another cell phone shot. Comments welcome.--Lannie Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 2, 2015 Excellent photo, especially for a cell phone shot. I'm about the only person I know who doesn't have one. I think the only reason I'd ever get one would be for the camera. They really do produce some remarkably good images. Have you tried printing something you've taken by cell phone? I wonder how much the image deteriorates are when printed 8"x10" or so. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 2, 2015 Thanks, Jack. No, I haven't tried printing. I got this phone pretty cheap since it is a third generation phone, and they are up to generation six in this line. The sensor is only eight megapixels, and all that one can shoot without cropping out data is wide angle. That is, it would be nice to have more pixels. That said, eight megapixels without a crop is not bad at all for most prints. I am afraid that there is some noise reduction that shows at times as a kind of watercolor effect. I guess that that is my way of saying that my D7000 would have done a better job. Then again, I now carry this one with me virtually everywhere. --Lannie Link to comment
Tina Karina 46 Posted May 2, 2015 Very neat image but very scary clouds. Best regards, Tina Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 2, 2015 Thanks, Tina. It was very fortuitous that the clouds rolled in just as I drove by these flowers. --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 5, 2015 Thank you, Tony. Some of the "watercoloring" from noise reduction is pretty obvious in this photo--more so than in others from this same series. --Lannie Link to comment
