Mosaic

Mosaic on the wall of the swimming pool in the late (and not

lamented) President Ceausescus private villa. Apart from the

decoration in the swimming pool, which is not bad, the rest of the

interior of the villa is a magnificent monument to excruciatingly bad

taste. The irony is that, today, the villa is used as a NATO

conference centre. There are still armed guards on the gate, but that

is fairly academic, because the building is not open to the public. I

am not certain what category this goes in. Perhaps architecture, but,

by the nature of the subject, I think it is more likely journalism.
