It is a rough seat she occupies, maybe she's just trying to  "keep a lid on it" until her lover returns. After all you can't execute dead people!

Caro Pierre, eccomi di ritorno da Bruxelles, sono stato a trovare mia figlia che si è trasferita là. Che sorpresa trovare un titolo in Italiano.

Una regina innamorata del "suo" cavaliere che lo attende su un sarcofago? La situazione dà adito a innumerevoli considerazioni ed ipotesi...! Io faccio la mia, quella che per prima mi viene in mente e...so anche il perché! Quel cavaliere è molto lontano e stava andando via dalla sua amante, la regina, la quale per non perderlo ha ucciso e sepolto suo marito il re ed ora aspetta che il suo amante cavaliere ritorni per sempre, finalmente liberi di amarsi senza limiti. Ma penso che il cavaliere non tornerà, ama la sua libertà!
