A supeb bird shot, cute subject and perfect timing.  Oh yeah, a great title, too.  Excellent work... Mike

Happy to have brought a smile to your face.  Couldn't resist the title.  Seemed like a no-brainer.  Best, Len.

Was more luck than great timing.  When I finally get these little critters in my viewfinder I take a series, 4 to 6 shots, in the 'continuous' shooting mode.  However, I'll accept  'luck' any day of the week.  :-)  Thanks for your thoughts.  Best, Len.

The title is perfect :) Beautiful capture with excellent lighting and detail in the face and plumage.  I love these birds.

I sit very still near the base of the tree that the feeders are hanging from.  After a while the birds overcome their fear of me as the seeds tempt them closer.  When they perch on a branch before lighting on the feeder I'm ready for them.  Fun!  Best, Len.

Great capture in a special pose, great technical and aesthetic quality, as always!

Thanks for your recent visit, Len!

Cheers

Armed with only the 55-200mm kit lens it is important to be close if you desire a high quality image.  This one was from 7 or 8 feet.  After a while their desire for food overcomes their fright of a nearby photographer.  Thanks for your visit.  Best, Len

Very good and funny as well Len. It's a great title and the image has nice detail and great background bokeh. Nice.

What's life without a bit of humour? Sometimes we get double lucky.  Thanks for your visit & comment.  Best, Len.

Len,

the pose of the bird is very cute. I also like the combination of colors in your photograph, they all fit together quite well. On the critique side, I find the branch in the left lower corner a bit distracting. Of course, it is difficult to photograph through branches, and overall you did a very good job with that.

Best regards, Stanislav

Thanks for your most welcome comment and critique.  The colour combinations were a happy accident as is the gesture of the raised foot.  I simply took advantage of what the camera recorded.  Not like I was fully in control since I opted for the 'C'ontinuous shooting mode. A certain amount of luck prevails under those circumstances.  There is likely a photoshop solution for the distracting twig but it doesn't bother me enough to try to attempt a correction, though perhaps it should.    As you say, it's tough to get a great shot when your subject is in the 'bushes'.  I still find shooting this subject matter fun despite the drawbacks.  Don't be a stranger!  Best, Len.

These cuties are relatively easy to photograph and you don't even have to leave your back yard.  I'm going broke paying for the seed they eat though.  :-) Best, Len.
