Not Here 93 Posted May 1, 2015 A supeb bird shot, cute subject and perfect timing. Oh yeah, a great title, too. Excellent work... Mike Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 1, 2015 Happy to have brought a smile to your face. Couldn't resist the title. Seemed like a no-brainer. Best, Len. Link to comment

LenMarriott 9 Posted May 1, 2015 Was more luck than great timing. When I finally get these little critters in my viewfinder I take a series, 4 to 6 shots, in the 'continuous' shooting mode. However, I'll accept 'luck' any day of the week. :-) Thanks for your thoughts. Best, Len. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 2, 2015 The title is perfect :) Beautiful capture with excellent lighting and detail in the face and plumage. I love these birds. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 2, 2015 I sit very still near the base of the tree that the feeders are hanging from. After a while the birds overcome their fear of me as the seeds tempt them closer. When they perch on a branch before lighting on the feeder I'm ready for them. Fun! Best, Len. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted May 2, 2015 Great capture in a special pose, great technical and aesthetic quality, as always! Thanks for your recent visit, Len! Cheers PDE Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 2, 2015 Armed with only the 55-200mm kit lens it is important to be close if you desire a high quality image. This one was from 7 or 8 feet. After a while their desire for food overcomes their fright of a nearby photographer. Thanks for your visit. Best, Len Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted May 2, 2015 Very good and funny as well Len. It's a great title and the image has nice detail and great background bokeh. Nice.BR, Holger Link to comment

stanislav 0 Posted May 5, 2015 Len,the pose of the bird is very cute. I also like the combination of colors in your photograph, they all fit together quite well. On the critique side, I find the branch in the left lower corner a bit distracting. Of course, it is difficult to photograph through branches, and overall you did a very good job with that.Best regards, Stanislav Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 6, 2015 Thanks for your most welcome comment and critique. The colour combinations were a happy accident as is the gesture of the raised foot. I simply took advantage of what the camera recorded. Not like I was fully in control since I opted for the 'C'ontinuous shooting mode. A certain amount of luck prevails under those circumstances. There is likely a photoshop solution for the distracting twig but it doesn't bother me enough to try to attempt a correction, though perhaps it should. As you say, it's tough to get a great shot when your subject is in the 'bushes'. I still find shooting this subject matter fun despite the drawbacks. Don't be a stranger! Best, Len. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted May 7, 2015 As always, successful and interesting capture of a cute birdy! Best regards, Len! PDE Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 7, 2015 These cuties are relatively easy to photograph and you don't even have to leave your back yard. I'm going broke paying for the seed they eat though. :-) Best, Len. Link to comment
