M_Lipakis 3 Posted April 25, 2015 I like the "dialogs" here Sweid and the dream like atmospher that the bright white background creates. The face is well lit against the shiny curtains (reflector or flash?) but i am not quite sure about the grain though especially in a such a bright photo. Obviously used as a creative tool but i really can't tell if i like it or not. Keep on shooting. Link to comment
andresfaya 0 Posted April 25, 2015 Composition wise the image works for me. The back light is not easy to execute but you still get details on the face of the model. It tells a story and the grain does not annoy me at all.I like how you connect the focus areas with the line from the eyes to the book. John Peri 1,029 Posted April 26, 2015 You never make it easy Sweid, but that enriches your images in terms of impact. As far as graphism is concerned, the picture works according to ideal, but the lighting, focus and the shadows differ from the norm, which draws the viewer to examine closer. Untimately, it is the reflective mood of the model which draws attention and the hand and figure on the table strike a common cord which strengthen the overall composition. It would be possible to pass over this in thumbnail, but on closer examination it is a very fine and worthy piece. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted April 27, 2015 I like your "dialogues" concept, it's interesting. The face lightning is due to the natural light, this corner of my house is a large crystal semicircle, then the light in this case comes on from the background and from both sides as well, it's perfect for this kind of portraits. About the noise, it was added without intention, not as an artistic resource, and you're right, it is not necessary here. I'm glad you like this photo, and I only can add efxaristo poli! AndresAs I told previously, the light comes from the background and both sides, if one try with different apertures keeping the shutter speed for sure you'll nail early or late! That was my only merit here. Anyway, I'm flattered with your comment. Thanks a lot Andres. JohnNever is the same condition, or mood, or model flexibility to convey the character explored by the camera. Only few times one can find exactly what are we looking for. Then, suddenly things are surprisingly easy to do. The technical facts are a hard work to achieve in the right mode, here breaking some standards of purism, I know (I am a dilettante!), but with patience and calm sometimes it works. The character intended this day was largely discussed with her, she was so kind and smart that her beauty and inner world outstands achieving what you can see, and finally I like it, a fact that don't happen very often in my case. Your comment is a prize for me. MauYour synthesis is accurate, but I must say that she is so elegant and delicate that is very difficult to do it wrong, About the title, this is the question that was sounding in my brain this afternoon meanwhile I pressed the shutter, "Who could know what are you thinking about". This inner silent question told me that the photo could be good enough, the image provokes a question. Tante grazie caro amico! Link to comment
