This bell shaped ice block was left leaning on its bigger sibling as

the tide receeded.Thank you for your comment-Laurent

First of all, the image is much more interesting when viewed Larger. (as most images are)  The white subject against a darker background of brown & blue adds an element of drama and there is the much desired diagonal line drawing the eye to the leaning ice formation.  This formation is unfortunately slightly blown.  Perhaps it could be recovered if you took this in RAW but if you are, like me, a JPEG shooter, good luck with that.  I'd consider it a keeper anyway.  I just wouldn't bother submitting it to any high expectation contest for that reason.  Good to see the ice leaving.  Was getting sick of the brutally cold winter.  :-)  Best, Len.

Thank you for the kind analysis.Of course I totally agree with you and now kick myself for not having taken the/more time to attempt some tweak of the leaning block especially that it was highlighted in my title.I am a JPEG shooter as you note and I much rather spend more time with the camera and very little with the computer.Yes,the ice is leaving and this section of beach has regained its sandy surface but the ice sheet in the harbour remains trapped and is now needing help from the Fisheries ice breaking Hovercraft to create some way for the fishing(lobster&crab)fleet to get to the fishing banks.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
