Not Here 93 Posted April 24, 2015 A spectacular and ominous sky that you've captured well... Mike Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 24, 2015 And it was headed my way! Shortly after this shot we were pelted with freezing rain & pellets of snow. Guess winter's not done with us yet. Thanks for your thoughts. Best, Len. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted April 24, 2015 That sky is even more ominous viewed larger Len, let's hope these lingering winter effects leave us, and soon. Have a great weekend.BR, Holger Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 24, 2015 Yes, bigger is better, in this case at least. A couple of weeks of spring weather convinced us to drop our guard. The temperatures here, with a wind, were hovering around 0 C. and I was wearing a short sleeved shirt & light jacket. Wasn't too long out of the car. :-) Best, Len. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted April 28, 2015 Fabulous cloud formations Len. I have never seen Ontario Place in the Winter. Amazing what you can see when there are no leaves on the trees. I've just been looking at many of your images, I must come back and revisit. You have a varied and very interesting Portfolio. I see some of your pics are from the Barrie-Collingwood area as well. I live in Peterborough. Grew up mainly in Oshawa and that is where I had my children. Visits to Toronto were from there. There is something about this capture that I really find appealing. I am always fascinated with clouds. It's good you had your camera with you to capture these beauties!! Warming up this week, sure hope it stays!kind regards, Gail Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 29, 2015 The cloud element is the main attraction here. On a bright sunny day the scene would be lacking much interest. Luck is good! :-) We've lived in Barrie for 42 years and my wife is from Collingwood, thus the high number of photos from the area. A visit to Toronto (and it's insane traffic) is a rare but always necessary event. When you are handed a lemon..........................................! Thanks for your most welcome visit & comment. GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 2, 2015 Yes I'd agree re the clouds. Tnks for the Bio. It is sometimes nice to know there are others in Southern Ontario on this site. One of the reasons I don't get into Toronto, IS THE DRIVE. However, in November of 2013 we were coming back from Florida and my husband took a wrong exit and we ended up going through Toronto along the Lakeshore at night. It actually was so interesting - I had not seen all the new skyscrapers and buildings of interest. Time goes by too fast. I always liked Ontario Place. I went there often in the 80's. Lots of fun for the children and if we went out with friends there was always a Free Concert 'in the round' in the evening or a band playing at Molson Canadian Place. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 9, 2015 Brings back old memories. My wife and I were there & caught a free concert by Country & Western singer Carol Baker. Must have been in the early 70's as I think she gave up her singing career in 1973 and Ontario place construction began in 1969. OK, this has little to do with the technicals of the above photo but just thought I'd like to share that bit of history. Best, Len. Link to comment
