Thanks Mau and B. Young McQueeen for taking the time to comment. As for the ID, I must say I found this a bit confusing - I thought the blue beak was quite distinctive of the LBH. However, a with a little more online research I see that the yellow beak of the tricolor becomes blue during the breeding season. My (beginners) bird book (National Geographic field guide to Birds of NA) only shows it with a yellow beak, even in the breeding plumage!
