Those are nice complimentary colors and a good sharp image. I imagine the 500mm lens allowed you to have some distance so as not to scare off the butterfly. That certainly is a superlative lens but a bit pricey for me. Great photo.

Thanks James! I was using the 1.4x with the 500mm, hence, it's actually 700mm away. I was shooting Hummingbird but this beautiful butterfly came and landed on the flower and I continue to take a few shots (like 30 shots, lol) . I've found that the solid black bring the subject out a lot more than if the image is all flower background, btw.
