While the hoopoe looked for food in the grass and was on the dog's way, the dog was not even aware to the bird, both of them were surprised. i just waited to the moment....

Thanks for viewing and comments!

Thanks Tm j, it is a common bird in Israel, some use to call it -  the national bird.

Many appreciations for your comment!

Dear Hanan,

the most spectacular in the shot for me... is how the hoopoe has been frozen in full flight/escape, and hoofs (dog paws) with a beautiful sense of movement.

I've seen the shutter speed was very fast. As these birds have a color of the earth (ocher) if it was not for the blur, it cannot be distinguished. And so this way has been amazing.

I have read in your bio and I'm glad you've caught on the camera again. You're very good photographer and I was surprised how interesting and attractive were in the beginning, the places where you took photos. Without risk sometimes, there's nothing. As some say: "no pain, no gain".

Congratulations for the shot!, kindest regards, Laura.

Thanks a lot Laura for your comprehensive comment and very very kind words.in fact it is the best comment i've ever received here and truelly enjoyed reading every word, yes I must admit!

I was concentrated on water birds at another point, but on the corner of my eye was the hoopoe digging for worms in the grass.not so interesting situation for taking a shot...

The dog came in the same direction, sniffing its way twards the bird unaware to it, until both of them were surprised (cute domestic dog,i don't belive it could harm the bird...)

I predicted the situation so i stood focused on the bird and begun clicking, unknowing which direction it will fly to escape. I was fortune indeed.

There are much better fotographers then me here, probably with better accessability to wildlife as well but everyone has its good moments sometimes and that what makes the challenge.

Many regards and appreciations for your wonderful feedback!

Hanan... thanks to you for your sympathy!.

You say... we must be lucky to foresee the situation but also we need to know when and how... to make the decisión to shoot and I congratulate you for all! ...

Sorry for not answering before.

Thanks to you and please continue taking great photos.

Kindest regards, Laura
