fotomac 0 Posted March 4, 2015 John, love the model, she is stunning and your work is always of the highest quality, i just seem to prefer this model in B&W, i don't know what it is, i can't given you a logical explanation, but for me the images when she is presented in B&W are so much stronger. Its still a wonderful image, but just not quite my usual 6/7MAC Link to comment
John Peri 1,027 Posted March 4, 2015 Many thanks for your visit friends. Colin, I appreciate your comment, thank you very much. This is a subject that I often muse about under these pages, not just regarding this but several of the works posted. My feeling has always been that black and white reduces the glamour component of such images, rendering them more "credible" shall I say as artistic works. Nevertheless, sometimes the textures, colouring and expression may justify a more colourful approach, while still distancing the outcome from glossy magazine-like stuff. I have strictly nothing against "glamour" per se, it's simply just not what I'm usually after. Since I have actually worked this one in black and white, I'll post it too so that you may compare. Again, many thanks for your thoughtful remark. John Link to comment
fotomac 0 Posted March 5, 2015 JohnI think you may have hit the nail on the head, the B&W is more artistic and less glam / page 3 / girlie mag. Like you i have nothing against these genres, but i prefer the more subtle, more thought provoking image. An image to me is more erotic, or more interesting if one has to use their own imagination to interpret the contents of the image. There are many image in this section that are just bordering on the porno, self gratification rather than the artistic and creative nude composition.MAC Link to comment
