As if resisting winter, this bush is peeking through the snow.Thank you

This one doesn't quite work for me. Despite the cracking feeling of the branches against the snow and the red berries, somehow the whole thing doesn't seem to come alive. Maybe it's the more uniform grayness of the snow (compared to its companion piece) but the effect feels strangely muted.

Resilience... a cool white clean background and a multitude of short black lines staying together as a solid solidary group with the dispersed red berries, harmoniously spread little dots expressing such resilient energy and beauty.

You are right:the wind seemed to have spared this spot and left it uncarved. When I was working on this,I had tried tinting the snow to give it a more abstract flavor.....but in the end,I decided this was the better option.I thank you for the frank observation.

Merci bien! There is not much color with the winter we are having, even these have been covered by the latest storm.

Hi, there's got to be a photo in there somewhere, have you tried it with the snow white. Even without the windblown texture I still think of snow has white, not grey or beige.

But what do I know you obviously get a lot more snow in your neck of the woods and you have a lot of great photo's to demonstrate this.

Obviously you are right that when we think about snow, white comes to mind, but it is a complex material including when wanting to seize it in image, for me at least. As you well know, its texture will easily absorb the ambiant light,as much the firery colors of a sunset or sunrise or the grey of an overcast day as when this one was taken;the greyish tint here is close to actual although in PP,I could have bleached it or gone the other way with the yellowish tint I pondered before deciding on this.I thank you for viewing and for the thought provoking observation.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
