Mark Z 371 Posted February 19, 2015 Els, this reminds me somewhat of a Weegee photograph because of the flash illumination and the dark background, and even because the state of the subject could be seen as seamy. Because the flowers are (apparently) haphazardly arranged and past their prime, it adds interest over the more typical photo of a beautiful flower arrangement. Technically, the colors work well together and there is an eye-catching sharpness and contrast. I might also try the composition with less black space at the top, or even a square format.
