Now this is different from the overdone water droplet. The lampshade produced is very good as is the reflection. It even appears the bulb is on!

It's lovely, technically well done, and somehow it makes me smile realising how much time trying, failing, trying again and repeating over and over was invested to get this one (assuming it wasn't a complete lucky shot - doesn't look like it). It takes some patience for sure. Other than that... hard to say much about it, to be honest. It's what it is, a well-executed, technically very sound, well presented nice image.

This is easily one of the most creative images on photo.net. I have not seen anything like this before.

This looks like a submersible led light being dropped in a liquid and bounced back, but I am wondering whether the liquid is water, or some other viscous fluid like oil. Looking at the bouncing effect and how there is minimal splash around the impact on the fluid surface, it may have been oil, or even thicker liquid like car antifreeze.

Correct me if I got it wrong. Technicalities aside, this is one hell of a shot!

Thank you very much my friends for your warm comments! It's just a tap water and dissolved glycerine. And a lot lot of time and a great piece of luck of course!

Irina, congratulations for producing an image worthy of the POTW. I wholeheartedly agree with the comments already posted, so I won't bore anyone by repeating them. However, I will add that skill and creativity were far more responsible than luck.

Producing shots like this is a lot of fun because, not only are you challenging yourself creatively to come up with the means for producing them, but you get a bit of a thrill when you see one in review that you really like. I think this one was very nicely executed. I've produced some of my own 'splash photography,' and one can engage in it for hours changing colors, dropped objects, camera setting, fluids, drop heights, etc. It's a fun indoor photography activity when the weather has you housebound (and even if it doesn't).

Singular image... expertly lit and timed
Quite a difference from the normal spherical droplets that are normally generated and photographed.
The color also makes this image very strong.
excellent!
