Thank you. This is a bonus shot for me and really not much effort even if it was very cold;for some reason, the long road leading to this lighthouse which is normally left snowed in for the winter months was freshly opened so I could drive right up,rattle off a few shots and get back in the car before getting frozen.Glad you like!

You are right about the wind as this place is at the tip of the Island and fully exposed to the winds coming off the open sea;notice that the lighthouse is secured by four guy wires to ensure its resistance to the wind.Thank you for looking in and for the observation my friend.

Thank you kindly for viewing and for the appreciation on this recurring subject of mine;plenty of whites to deal with in our long winters here.

Thank you for the kind observation. The sea is that thin white line behind the lighthouse and its accessory buildings.....of course,at this time of the year,it is frozen solid for as far as the eyes will see.If you click on the left arrow, this shows you a shot from the beach not far from this site.

I've seen this image in your portfolio before but really didn't know what to say about it...I believe now I do. It screams isolation with a dash of misery, and yet relays peacefulness and comfort at the same time. It confuses me and that's why I like it.

It is all of that.At the tip of the Island,it is usually totally isolated as the long road leading to it is abandoned in winter and exposed as it is,it is really miserable anytime it snows and it is windy which it is most of the time;for some unknown reason, the road was conveniently opened and allowed access for this shoot. On the other hand,as the elements calm down,it becomes a haven of peace and in summer, the site is a favorite with tourists and locals alike now that its usefulness as a navigational aid has been surpassed by the GPS and such on the local fishing fleet.Thank you for looking in and for the kind observation.
