Wayne Sadler 558 Posted February 6, 2015 Even with a bright sunny day and fast shutter speed, this for me is a rare in focus image of a bird in flight. If only there were clouds. Comments and critique appreciated. Link to comment
lauramarco 0 Posted February 6, 2015 Dear Wayne, yes ... the bird has been frozen, motionless only we can imagine in our minds to see it in real flight. With clouds?, following the mouvement could make a panning effect, but ... I do not know what you really wanted. If you use a lower shutter speed, the body will be blurred ... not easy, but I really like your result. You're very good at capturing looks in birds. Here its look is quite interesting, the eyes, the gaze and blue color tones are overwhelming and give a meaning, a cohesion to the work, really nice.Congrats and kindest regards, ㋙ Link to comment

tolle13 0 Posted February 6, 2015 Hi Wayne, I'm not sure what clouds would add. You have nailed this shot for me and processing is top drawer.Jed Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 558 Posted February 6, 2015 Laura,Many thanks. I always appreciate your insightful analysis, critique and understanding. I generally measure my work against some of the incredible images of PN members including your work. I know this sometimes leads to having more appreciation for the work of others than I have for my own work. This is not a bad thing to have these artist heroes – it keeps my standards high. What is so beautiful about this site is that we show our support of other artists by articulating why we appreciate their work. I find it most encouraging and inspirational. Thanks, again. Wayne Sadler 558 Posted February 6, 2015 Laurent,Many thanks. I thought applying a gradient and this framing was necessary to overcome the monotony of the sky. Thanks for validating these artistic decisions. Link to comment

lauramarco 0 Posted February 6, 2015 Dear Wayne, thanks for your answer, I find it very nice and sincere. Yes ... I also have people who are a reference for me, who are goals to be achieved or simply they guide my way in certain aspects. There are many works/images and ways of working/dealing with photography that I admire, then ... I go back to mine and try to improve and do my best.Your work is also a good reference for me. I like your words, full of humility, no arrogance ... a desire to learn, to see beyond ... that will take you far. I think everything starts being able to see a step further :)I wish you all the best. kindest regards, ㋙ Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 558 Posted February 7, 2015 Patsy,Many thanks. You know we all have to keep working on that processing thing. Of course I may have a longer way to go then most. I am always appreciative when artists of your caliber comment on an image. Thanks again. Link to comment
