The stark contrast between the textured colors of the building and the flatness of the bright blue

sky (really a textbook example of negative space) is very effective here. I like the shadow which falls on the bottom left as well, it adds contextual depth to the picture. making it feel like this is a real place and not just a photographic exercise.
