alfbailey 2 Posted January 29, 2015 Sometimes I think it's the things we don't see that makes what we do see all the more alluring and attractive! Beautifully done! Alf Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 30, 2015 Dana, Self praise is no praise but I do like this one myself. I am glad you like it too. Alf, You may well be right. That said, I do think we see the 'right' things in this image. Pierre, Sometimes I manage something original. Thanks everyone. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 30, 2015 To me, the photo is more about mystique or mystery than beauty, the latter being a word that is often insubstantial and lacking much meaning in the absence of other more descriptive adjectives. The only thing slightly out of place here would be her eyeliner, which really draws my eye and I'm not sure to what end. Otherwise, it's engaging as much because of its soft darkness as because of the light on her face and gentle glow in her eyes. I think the delicate texture of her hair impresses my eye and makes me feel even more drawn into the photo. Her eyes are kept soft and sweet by not being overly lit or sharpened and achieve a warmth that invites. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 30, 2015 Your comment is very humbling. I often find it difficult to offer such lengthy and informed comments on the work of others. All I can say is thank you but I really feel that is not enough. Thanks anyway! Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted February 1, 2015 So often we talk about the connection the viewer gets through our subjects' eyes. That was never truer than with this image. Nicely done by both of you. Link to comment
andrzejp 7 Posted February 1, 2015 When looking at thumbnail it was OK, but looking at the actual image was much more impressive. Simple yet very original. Link to comment
morophaenixmau 3 Posted February 1, 2015 Wonderful idea&result my dear friend, compliments to you and to the model! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted February 2, 2015 Mark, Your comment does highlight a point. The model is always more important than the photographer. Andrew, I would hope that most of my images are more impressive than the thumbnail. I appreciate that in truth, that might not be the case. Maurizio, I am happy you have seen this. Thanks everyone.
