color 3 Posted January 16, 2015 I have doing my processing with a different approach lately and decided to look back to a session I had with this woman last year to see if there were any promising images to work with. And I found this one. My new techniques, along with the ones I've been using add a lot of interest and appealing looks to my images. I'm very happy with this one. Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 16, 2015 This is a classic photograph. Though she is elegantly posed in the rattan loveseat she seems wary and not quite comfortable. You're immediately drawn to the glaring brightness of her skirt especially as it is set against that rather sinister looking shadow on the left. There's a feeling of underlying unease, even a hint of danger here. Link to comment
DavidRabinowitz 8 Posted January 17, 2015 i like it as well...small things like how her toe hits the floor add interest to the portrait and speak to her personality and perhaps ease in being barefoot...she is engaged with you but cautious...this is a very good portrait...regards....David Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted January 17, 2015 She is so cute in that pose with an expression of surprise and in likeable environment! Best regards, Chuck! PDE Link to comment
color 3 Posted January 18, 2015 I'm glad you like the image. She has done some modeling before, but I think she was out of practice. She didn't seem to know quite what to do with herself at first (this was early in the shoot) and it was the first time we worked together. Later on in the shoot she loosened up and did fine. We will probably be shooting again in a few months. Link to comment
color 3 Posted January 18, 2015 She's quite cute for sure. We have plans to shoot again in a few months. Now I need to come up with an idea for that! I don't think it's laziness, but models commonly want me to come up with the ideas. Well, it's OK. I have fun. Link to comment
Wayne Melia 6,037 Posted February 9, 2015 I like it a lot because there is a lot to like. Echo Jack's comments re elegance of pose reinforced by the curves of the furniture. And then it's juxtaposed with the wide-eyed stare, and mouth open(ing) in surprise. Then the pose changes as we look at it to suggest possible launch to action - escape? Are the toes tensed? Huge dynamics with all the diagonals, ominous shadows, and reflections on the background. Link to comment
