This is the other image tied for my favorite. Here, too, it’s the overall shape of the light areas that really grabs me—another graceful form. The red of the tail lights of both the near and distant car are beautifully placed to provide a focal point and an echo of that focus, and the progression of sizes of the glowing street lamps really creates a sense of depth here—something often hard to do in an image that reads primarily as an abstract. The small sharply defined lights in the background are a very effective contrast to the wet, splashing foreground lights.
