Still not there, but I am beginning to find my way around on the various ways of doing black and white conversions.  Long way yet to go. . .

I think I like this one the best because it highlights the cloud against a darkened sky. I like the volume of the field as well. I just got the Silver EfexPro 2 which is a lot of fun working with b&w.

Jack, you are a master of this sort of thing.  I am just a beginner where BW conversions are concerned.  This is sort of fun, though.  I will have to look into that software.

Lana, I use Silver EfexPro 2 as well and find it easy and intuitive.  The trick is to include all 10 zones of gray - if possible - in each image.  This is the old Ansel Adams zone system.  I like the cloud in this image, but think that there may be too much going on in the image.  Might you crop it?  Larry
