Thanks Mr. Mancil! My wife is torn between Carmel & La Jolla but it's an easy choice to go to La Jolla for us since it's 1 hour drive verses 5,6 hours drive to Carmel. Besides, the hotels in La Jolla were on sale at 50%!

Incredible softness of the water. The star-shaped lights, typical of closed diaphragm, give charm. Wonderful combination of blue and orange.

I wish you a good stay at La Jolla Cove :) and please continue taking pictures so amazing.

Thanks for sharing, congrats, Laura.

Thanks Laura! Long exposue will get the water smooth since the ocean ripples are moving during that 20, 30 seconds of exposure. I came early for that reason  :-) - When the morning light comes up then even if the lens is closed-down to F22 the SS would still be too high and some people use ND filter (like a Lee's Big Stopper  that darken the scene) to allow slow SS.

Dear Tm J, thank you for your answer. Yes... neutral density would not affect colors, only would affect light, darkening and forced to increase time (25 seconds is a good time to achieve silky water) and to have a very slow speed. I take good note.

Thank you and congratulations. Kindest regards, Laura.
