Wow, this picture has it all! Great framing, color contrasts, and human interests. The beautiful young girl has a wonderful expression that you caught.

I think you have to walk a tightrope on this one between design and reportage, my inclination would have been to back down on the color saturation a bit to bring the girl's face and the hotness(?) of the blue flag back into a more real feeling. That, I think, would be a more sympathetic treatment of this soft sweet face contrasting the hard flag.

Since I was standing only a few feet from you when you took this photo, I'm still amazed that you captured this scene in such a wonderful manner while my photos of the same general scene took in far too much else. Wonderful job of simplifying. And I like the fact that her hair blends in with the background. Its her expression that counts.

There're several things I like about this photo. A very eye-catching photo with vibrant colors and a sound composition. The expressions are very engaging. The bus windows are cleverly used as a natural frame for the pic.

 

I travelled to Guatemala last December to see the Mayan site in Tikal. That was fantastic! Didn't get to see the chicken bus. I heard they are old school buses from the US?
