An intriguing exercise in perception. Very well seen but I think the right angles should be corrected. The line of the baseboard and the bottom of the mirror are slightly at a slant

Yes. It doesn't look forced or manipulated at all. Certainly an improvement in my opinion. It strikes me that this looks like a detail from a Vermeer painting. Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
