You are every bit as much of an artist as you are a photographer.  This is fantastic!  I love the darks in it, but (at least on my monitor) I think you could lighten the darks on the bird just a bit.  Great work, Gail!  Hope you're feeling better by now?

Ah, Gail, you're back in full throat. This one has all the appeal and mystery one could want in a picture. Everything is woven together seamlessly; I wish you could show me how you do that. I'm always fascinated by the magic of your PS artistry. Most importantly, the resulting image looks as if it had created itself. It doesn't look manipulated or tricky but rather a cohesive and intelligent composition.

I didn't have a clue what it was when I clicked on the thumbnail, now I see butterflies and beautiful texture! Most impressive and beautiful work of art, Gail! Congratulations!

Best regards

As Jack said this is a kind of magic here, late autumn scene with mood for this season when all life seems to prepare for hibernation,is what I feel.Very good one indeed, compliments.

Christal, I struggled with the bird and after I posted I decided it could be a bit lighter. The original image of the bird has a lot of shadows and saturation depleted within them. I could only lighten it a bit in the body or it got 'muddy'. I think increasing the levels on the face would have helped a lot. Many thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!

It does have some sort of sadness... It looks like remembering last days of summer... You know how to apply and post-process those kind images!

With all my best,

Grigoriy

What an extraordinary marvellous result.   I do like a good composite and this has it in spades.    Even the edging is really good.  Goes to my favourites and has to be a 7.

Warm regards, Jim
