Thanks for all the guidance and direction on how to achieve this impressive treatment. But I suppose that is proprietary.

Would love to have heard the recommendations you received.  At any rate, the basic shot is a sound one with a great perspective. Michail's interpretation adds a bit more drama and clarity.  I didn't know about this structure, so thanks for posting.

Christal,

Thanks for your thoughts. Michail and I have developed an adversarial relationship over the months and I think it will be a cold day in hell before he gives me any constructive/instructive feedback. Then, I suppose, there is the question of whether or not I would gratefully accept his feedback. He has managed to work out a deal with someone in PN's management that prevents me from commenting on any of his photos but allows him to make whatever snide comments he wants to on mine. Thus, my somewhat passive-aggressive reply above. :-) Cheers, Jim

Don't see it as a lesson on post processing nor as a show off.

See it more like an intrigue. There is always more in a picture than the default outcome. It's more or less your camera's default settings that define this first outcome. This could be soft, with no contrast or color vividness (that's fine for a glamorous portrait i guess) like your default settings.

But there is ALWAYS more in it and if you like what i have done (within 5 minutes time) with your dynamic photo then you have just made step one.

The second step is to start playing with any PP software. Just by playing with it you will be surprised how much you learn from it.

Then it's the RTBM (or RTFM) stage. You want to make a specific change and you search through manuals, internet and friends for this specific help.

Ask for my help on an issue like that and if i do not respond then you can call me a Jerk (again).

My mistake. I wrote the above simultaneously with your second reaction. I am so, so sorry for every single second i have spend for you. You (and your photos) will never change. I see it now, it's too late.
PERIOD.

Ps. I think it's finally time (after 10 or more years) to RTBM on how to use PN. It's called blocking and allows you to block s.o from commenting on your photos.

Also i would like to reassure you that there is no secret deal whatsoever between me and any Government to steal any of your photos. Sleep tight Jimy.
