Not sure whether the pink in the left corner is supposed to contribute, however, in my view it is a distraction.  The main focus is on this interesting lady and her expression.  I would crop out the distracting area mentioned,  and probably also, a bit behind - to project where she is headed.

Hope that helps !

Writing first thoughts, in this case: 'Not sure' is an important, honest matter. Great and thanks for that. I must have seen that pink, can't remember, but the most important was, by fast reacting, in shooting the lady in this light & position. It was market, most people gaze here a second, next there a second. So, on the image the lady plus the pink - she is staring at and thinking about - also was there. It's with the white the source of that reflecting light plus the reason of her posture and attitude. And I like it. In fact I did crop that side (plus top) only 2 mm in getting the amount of white balanced, thát was my first thought. :)

Whát if our first thoughts appeared to be the same..? If thinking that pink distracting, I would have considered a 13x18 format, as close as possible to my in fact favorite 10x15. On forehand keeping 10x15 together with the crop would have resulted in losing too much blue and and having the top of her head near the ceiling. :) In very, very rare cases I 'have' to make a quarter pounder of an image. Just in keeping the subject alive.

In order to keep an harmonic style plus portfolio 10x15 gets used as much as possible. Next I think 'quarter pounders', often in fact square formats performed with a 10x15 CCD just too easy. I could have made lots of them by cropping the troubles, however those shots got deleted. Tip: by enlarging this image the pink in the corner is less prominent and don't forget the glaces the lady is wearing, ha, pink seems an addiction. Jim I did stydy your portfolio, plus - always very important in getting an idea of a photographer - I did study your 29 collected Favorite Images. And by noticing the (many) different formats, your first thought here plus the suggestion (in a way) got clear to me. Yes, sharing ideas is pleasant and important, wish you very good colored hunting..! Regards, Olaf.
