thanks for looking any thoughts appreciated. This man was fishing off the

Newport Beach pier and I felt there was just a lot of character and life

experience in his face and hands.

Barry, I don't rate but I am happy to comment. You are right about his hands and I also love the texture in his clothes. The BW tonality is wonderful. I find it unfortunate that I cannot see his face, and that another fishing rod is visible in the upper left corner distracts a bit. It also seems to me that the beard shows a little bit less detail than I would have hoped for.

Christoph, cheers and thanks for the remarks. On my monitor the beard is pretty detailed, but its easier to see if you look on flickr where the photo shows a little clearer and larger.

A photograph with great charactor. As a suggestion crop it down to just the face and the hands. You may loose a sense of location but it would emphasis the great charactor you have captured. Rgds.
