Pierre Dumas 260 Posted November 13, 2014 She is so young and dear and the best way for illumination of a nude used - near the window! Very nice artwork! Best regards PDE Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted November 13, 2014 I don't think I will ever tire of photographs of nudes at windows. I do like this. I might have made sure the centre vertical was vertical and I might have cropped out the frame on right hand side. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted November 13, 2014 It is nice to know my comments are taken to heart. The centre vertical is still out. It's still a great image. Link to comment
lightworks 0 Posted November 13, 2014 The vertical is out, David, because this is a 17th century building, and there are actually very few straight or flat surfaces anywhere (even the floors bend and curve) - hence the cracks behind the model... it all adds to the character. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted November 14, 2014 I too love the concept of a nude figure in a window, and in this image it is done quite well. I understand what you are saying about the angles in the structure. For me, the tilt is alright anyway and often can't be avoided. I also like the unusual framing but wonder if more space would have given more of a feeling of isolation. Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted November 14, 2014 Excellent Howard with a superb rendering of the light. Link to comment
wink_photo 0 Posted November 14, 2014 Howard. I like your choice to put the model on the right looking at something out of the frame with the negative space behind her. The choice makes me slightly anxious and I end up paying more attention to figure out what is causing my anxiety. The direction of the gaze out of the image also adds some mystery. For me, the lighting and tonal range are great. Beautiful work. All the best. Dana... Link to comment
