There are some amazing artists who sell their works on the sidewalk

outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. I guess you would

have to be good or think you are good to set-up shop outside one of

the world’s largest and finest art museums. Many painting were, as

would be expected, of New York and central park. As I stared at some

brilliant works, I wondered where were those places they had painted

and how had I missed some of those spectacular scenes on my strolls

through the park. Then my painter brain clicked-in and I realized I

hadn’t missed those scenes. These were painters. Painters choose

what elements of a scene to include, exclude, minimize or change for

the sake of the overall painting. Inspired, I went back into the park

creating and recreating my own vision of the park. Comments and

critique appreciated.
