dgv 1 Posted November 11, 2014 The Tower of London remembers the Great War. This year marks the anniversary of one hundred years since the First World War was declared. Ceramic poppies representing every soldier from Britain and Empire killed will be planted by November 11. The Artist Paul Cummins was inspired by the battlefield accounts of an unknown soldier who died in Flanders. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge unveiled the project and planted their own poppies. All flowers are to be sold off, raising millions, to be split between six charities with links to the Armed Forces. Each poppy is handmade by a team of at least 35 people and it takes around three days to create. The British public has flocked to see the installation in their millions, finding it both moving and beautiful. Thank you for viewing and commenting. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted November 11, 2014 In a rare act of actual journalism I saw a network TV story about this. A very moving tribute and worthy cause. Excellent idea to capture a painting within the photo. Good work... Mike Link to comment

gunnar1664882369 1 Posted November 14, 2014 Very strong image, Dimitris. I admire you skills to find interesting details and to present everything on a high quality level. I like the focus, the soft backgroud works very well. I have to emphasize the beautiful colous as well. Link to comment
ray.koushik 0 Posted November 18, 2014 The photo is good mostly because the composition is impeccable. keeping the red+blue lines on the right gave it a balance against the red jacket of the artist. wonderful work (for both:-) compliments -koushik Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted November 29, 2014 I like the way you have depicted the artist actually touching the image to make adjustments to his work, and you have chosen a great angle that gives a perception of the expression of feeling from the painter.I have studied this image for some time, and an idea has germinated that may, or may not be appealing to you, but I was thinking that maybe the image in B & W with selective colour for just the painting may add further weight to the poignancy of the image? Not exactly an original idea, but it might just work. Very well done Dimitris! All the very best my friend! Alf Link to comment
