This old shed has served it's purpose and is now a great prop for

winter scenes as this.Thank you for your comment-Laurent

A beautiful photo.  When viewed larger, I was tempted to suggest that the tree on the right be cropped out to yield a more conventional aspect ratio.  perhaps that could be your alternate version.

Thank you for looking in and for the kind appreciation. I did crop this to odd dimensions and agree that the tree at the back sort of competes with the one up front;the reason I left it in was to allow adequate space at the rear of the shed but maybe cloning it out would achieve a better balance as you suggest.I have other shots of this and will keep this in mind when I get to work on these.I appreciate your input.

Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent

Dear Laurent (and Victor)

I can see Victor's point, though I'd root for the tree. It puts the shed into perspective. If the tree is omitted the shed is nicely balanced by the spruce on the left, but the house is, in my opinion, no longer part of the forest.

I might have included a bit more to the right of the spruce and cropped the empty branches on the left (of that half tree). But as it turns out that's hard to do and would require some careful cloning.

Cropping aside: I really love the mood of the image. It conveys the cold quite nicely (though I am sure you guys haven't seen real cold yet ...).

Well done

Christoph

Thank you for your take on this.I have looked at this again and some of the other angles I have of this shed on this day;one take from a POV slightly right of this satisfies Victor's comment as it eliminates the big spruce at the back but I prefer the 3/4 shot on the shed here.I guess it comes down to a matter of taste/choice.I will try to keep both your comments in mind when I re-vist this later on.Not so cold yet,but I know what is  in waiting.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
