I like the inclusion of the human figures at the top left as it adds to the sense of scale.  You should consider including some Exif data-- especially focal length, F/stop, and exposure time-- as this often helps other viewers to better understand an image.  Regards, Jeff

What drew me to this version which was partly in shadow and (left) partly in direct, translucent morning sunlight was the diversity of colors -- quite a palate.  I'm so glad you noticed and remarked.

Thank you for letting me know your thoughts.

Jeff Bryce,

I really hadn't noticed the human figures top center/left for their sense of scale though I certainly included the trees for the same reason.  Thank you for pointing that out.  Maybe I should have looked better?

As to the EXIF data, it's there for those who care to drill down to find it.  It's not routinely posted because the pixel pushers in my mind seem to focus (excuse the expression) far too much on the equipment and the numbers than the end result, which is what you get when you look through the viewfinder and which is how I scope out a photo.  This is to the best of my knowledge taken with a 70-200 mm f 2.8 but the truth is in the EXIF, which you can find and open with OPanda.

Best wishes and thanks.

Love the colours and composition, especially with the human element in it. The light looks so sharp and clear. well seen and executed, best wishes William.

I drove all night from Las Vegas unenamored from the glitz and the glitter in order to see some open spaces and some 'reality' and was well rewarded as you have noted.

I can also state that the clarity may be from the thin mountain air, lack of pollution and the desert mountain coldness -- it was freezing when I arrived just before sunbreak and set up my shots, having no idea what I would encounter, except some deer on the road, just lying there because the road was warmer when I drove and scattered them.

Compliments that are well thought out as yours is are always appreciated; thank you so much.
