yecon 0 Posted October 31, 2014 Composition and pov excellent! Blacks are fine here, I slightly miss the whites, though... Link to comment
M_Lipakis 3 Posted October 31, 2014 Thanks for visiting Gianni, i miss them too, now that you've mentioned it, but the only full whites objects in the original image were the plate, the white strip on the menu and the salt case. (if only they were drinking some milk :-) ) Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted November 1, 2014 This is a wonderful picture and I think I prefer your original photo to Yannis' version. The heaviness of the darkness at the bottom is ok with me as the forms of the people seem to emerge organically from it in a strong, triangular composition. The flooring is wonderful; it's as if they were floating along on the surface of a shimmering sea. Finally, the table itself with its assortment of perfectly detailed and somewhat incongruous objects, pulls your right into the picture and adds an almost surreal touch. Really excellent work; it grabbed me right away. Link to comment
M_Lipakis 3 Posted November 2, 2014 Jack has a unique ability to put down in words feelings that, partly or in full, we all carry inside us but we are not aware that we do... Sometimes i think that he is the one who took the picture and now he is just sharing his ideas about his work. I don't know if it is considered pros or cons for a photographer to know less about his work than others but i do know that i enjoy the most out of it. Thanks Jack.Gianni thanks for getting in to trouble for me. Your version is too bright for what i had in mind but when i think of it my guess is that the "optical" truth is, as usual, somewhere in between.. Link to comment
