My initial impression is that the levels seem a bit low--but then I understood the reason for your technique.  Her engaging response to her friend is the center of interest.  Her face is illuminated perfectly to emphasize her expression.  A lighter version might be nice but it would make for a more complex image: hair would be lighter, red shirt would be brighter and distracting, the pattern over her knees would compete for attention.  The great dynamic range of tones and the facial modeling and subtle back-light display a high level of artistry.  Good job.
