From a "Senior Picture" shoot I did recently. I used a hand held

speedlight to light her.

I like the quirky little twist to her lower lip--even if it is caused by the lighting.

Thanks. Well, there is a shadow under her lip, but the lip is asymmetrical too. I guess I was paying more attention to her eyes than looking for shadows.

Overall good impact and crisp capture of her face and hair.  Considering her braces she has a fairly good expression.  Offer her a free session when she gets her braces off.  Sometimes it takes a month or two after braces removal to get back a natural smile.  Good luck.

I am looking at this on an iPad mini.  The levels look a bit low in comparison to the other portrait postings.

The image does seem to be a little underexposed. Yes there is a shadow under lower lip.  I must say who gives a (fill in the blank). The detail of the eyes makes this portrait. The  blurred background is very nice in itself however it just vanishes when you are looking at this portrait.  Eye contact eye to eye. I rate this a solid 6 because of no real smile. I understand the braces thing.  I am assuming she loves this portrait. If that is the case you have done your job 100 percent correct. Case closed.

 For all the so called experts on Photo.net remember ALL photos can be picked apart if stared at long enough. Also Just because some of these people have 3 4 or 5 thousand images on here doesn't make them an expert just like having very few on here doesn't make that person inexperienced.
