right guess! There's a stairway leading up to this small room and the legend says that some hundreds of years ago, Otto von Hohenstein (who stopped to support the abbey financially after the monks refused him as abbot), was killed on that stairway...

Window... ...light. This is in abbey Walkenried - a pretty remote place (if that's at all possible in Germany), that was chosen by the founding monks in 12th century.
