The shapes work well together because of the fog. On a clear day the details in the back ground would have competed with the shape of the subject.

Excellent timing.... Only 2 suggestions in my opinion.  

1. brighten the whites in the photo slightly to make the swan stand out a little better 

or ...

2. add a little contrast so that the swan and the grass clash with each other 

I think that either of these options would help your subject stand out in the image.
