dianedh 7 Posted October 4, 2014 What a typical view of the local DQ! Too bad the light pole? (or whatever) is there. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 4, 2014 I have just the opposite take on the light pole. This appears to be a drive by shot. The blurred light pole gives us the feeling of a contemporary tableau glimpsed rather than composed, a passing scene that caught your eye and that you caught in turn. There is a sense of unstudied immediacy to the picture. It manages to preserve a selected moment that feels almost random but which carries within it the DNA of a particular time. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted October 5, 2014 Definitely random and unstudied, Jack. . . It is a perspective from a single point in space-time, nothing more--and nothing worth even slowing down for. Yet, yet, for the individuals captured here, it was something. --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted March 4, 2015 Note: Shots in this folder were made hand-held, most of them from the car as I drove across town just after sunset on September 20, 2014, "The Last Saturday of Summer, 2014." Most were not made while the car was in motion. A few shots at the end of this series were made as I was walking around outside the car. --Lannie Link to comment
