You have the knack for making me feel that I have just woken up in the middle of one of your pictures. They have that kind of quality, half reality, half dream quickly fading with the light.

Jack – thank you for your kind comment –which has taken some time to answer, because it is not every day you get such high marks from anyone:)

I am glad that my photo has had such a impact on you and I really do appreciate receiving such a compliment!

I recognize the phenomenon – looking at someone’s photo for a long time creates a memory pic where you can move/travel in time and in dreams.

With some photos by some photographers it is bound to happen more easily than with others, -which is because of personal preferences/other factors to do. You are on my list too and I hope that this kind of exchange of appreciation and exchange of thoughts increases the discussion around photos which we like/do not like..

The difficulty of giving feedback lies often in the fact that everything is said already above- or then there is nothing.. However, if the photo is posted for critics one should be able to receive some feedback in return. By passing photos which have received totally different critics which you would give yourself are in the “worst” position as we often feel that we should not repeat what is said above or write something which is opposite to the general opinion..

I know that you like to encourage and appreciate all discussion around all photographs and I share this opinion. I think that the number of photographs posted every day makes this task more difficult day by day.

I have tried to avoid  this by going straight to the critics forum as then you are not affected by the above comments. Although it can and will cause some misunderstandings it gives better/genuine feedback of the photo which is still the aim of all critics. best Hannu
