wolfgangarnold 142 Posted October 3, 2014 like the cannon balls in Roger Fenton's "The Valley of the Shadow of Death" the bullet holes are signs (or indexes to) the violence that happened at this place. To me such indirect representations of violence are more powerful than direct ones (e.g. War Porn), because they rather push our imagination (and thoughts) than inhibit them.It is utterly depressing to see places of ancient heritage and once flourishing culture being destroyed like this.To you also the best - especially health & peace!Best regards,Wolfgang Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 3, 2014 Words seem inconsequential things when confronted with such a picture of the everyday reality. I offer you my thoughts and prayers. Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted November 6, 2020 A powerful, telling, magnificent, and grabbing testimony of human behavior and a gravely underdeveloped psyche. A statement of the human retrograde state. One of the most subjective documentary photo, worthy of the best newspapers/blogs or printed magazines. If you ever think you may submit a small article to the largest reliable newspapers, I have no doubt you would whet their appetite. Bravísimo! DG Link to comment
